Understanding Top, Middle and Base Notes of Essential OIl

Why some essential oils seems to last longer than others and why some are more noticeable when diffused?

Top, middle and base notes are perfumery or fragrance notes used to classify the scents of essential oils. Essential oils are classifed into these notes base on the rate of dissipation or evaporation.

Essential oils with top notes will be the first to be noticed, but then dissipate quite rapidly. The middle notes then emerge and the base notes will surface in an hour or so.
